They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings - and with Him will be His called, chosen, and faithful followers.

What I Know
Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.

A worthy goal:
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful, and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

It Is Time To Pray
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.

How to Finish the Race
None of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy.

My Identity
For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

A Good Diet
What a delightful feast this!
"Listen carefully to Me and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen that you may live.

A Comforting Word
What a blessing this truth is:
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;
For the Lord God is my strength and my song,
And He has become my salvation.

A New Mind
Hi Ladies,
What a neat birthday gift!
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

An Encouraging Word
Good morning,
What a blessing it is to have this promise!
No eye has seen
no ear has heard
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love Him
but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.

A New Song
Hi All,
I am so excited. As I was writing this scripture in the notecard tablet, a melody came to mind. Happy delighted I am to have a new song!
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live, I will sing praise to my God while I have my being, Let my meditation be pleasing to Him, As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
Psalm 104:33-34 (NASV)

Priceless Redemption
Ladies,
What an awesome word this is!
"You (Ouida) were not redeemed with corruptoble things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from you fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ , as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

A New Way to Walk
Hi All,
With our new income opportunities, we are hoping and praying that this word from the Lord will come into play.
"Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:4-5 (NIV)

A Dinner Guest
Hi All,
What a good scripture when focusing on hospitality.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him and he with Me."

Stand Fast
In a great adventure and difficult times this is a wonderful scripture.
"Stand fast in the liberty which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

My Security
Ladies,
If you can't tell by how late this post is, things are still quite unsettled around here with a job search going on. However, I found a wonderful scripture that I hope to take to heart. I am inserting the feminine pronoun.
(She) will have no fear of bad news; (her) heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. (Her) heart is secure, (she) will have no fear; in the end (she) will look in triumph on (her) foes.
Psalm 112:7-8

Peace in the Midst of an Earthquake?
A slight earthquake occurred here as Gerry was laid off from his job on Monday. You can imagine how handy this word will be:
Peace, I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
John 14:27 (NASB)

Springing into April
Hi,
The scripture this time is so appropriate as Easter comes since it mentions one reason why Jesus' lives. Thank God for His resurrection power!
"Therefore He is able to save forever those who draw near to Him since He always lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25 NASV

Spring is here!
As we spring forward, let's remember Who is responsible for all our blessings.
My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long. Do not cast me off in the time of old age, do not forsake me when my strength fails.
Psalm 71:8-9 (NASV)
God bless you,
Ouida

Marching On
What a good scripture I noticed for March with the wedding of our son and spring coming!
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

Oops Again
Hi All,
Here I am a day late again and Gerry thinks I need to do my post the day before the 1st and 15th. We'll try that next time.
The scripture these two weeks has to do with a discipline the Lord keeps trying to teach me. It is to cut out judging and critical thinking of others. The most amazing thing is that there are five huge reasons to stop it.
1. We are ignorant of all the data about those we judge.
2.We are guilty of the same things and will receive the same consequences.
3.We are blinded by judging of others' valuable qualities.
4.We side with the devil (accuser) himself when we judge against those God loves.
5. Judging creates a wall of isolation making us feel all alone.
So lets cut out the judging and critical thinking and maybe this scripture will help:
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you."
Matthew 7:1&2 (NASB)

Oops1
Oops, time for the next scripture! Really one day past time so there is room for improvement.
I am so excited about this one!
I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.
Philippians 3:8-9 (NIV)
This verse relates to our new Bible Study starting in 2 weeks - "Jesus, the One and Only." Hallelujah!
Love,
Ouida

One of the best gifts I got in 2009 was the encouragement from Beth Moore's blog to learn a verse of scripture every two weeks. On the 1st and 15th ( or close to that ) we would send in the scripture as a comment on the blog with the reference and version (abbreviated) and our first name. They figured out a reward for those who could say 20 out of the 24 scriptures (free entrance to a conference), but I will not be attending that. My best reward was having to work for days to get one verse memorized and then having some of God's word that was mine and could be used in the night or while driving etc. Many of us wrote these verses down on one of those little spiral notecard binders (I like the colored one) that you get at Wal-Mart. Since these verses were such good news to me many times this last year, I would like to start this blog for any of you that would like to do something similar. I will not be doing a seminar for a reward, but we could do one dandy party in January for those who have been encouraged to learn verses through this blog. Believe me the best reward is working on verses meaningful to you and even praying them to God. So think about participating. I hope to hear from you.
The verse I started this year on that some of you might like to use also is:
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15: 13 (NASV)
