Hi Ladies,
New scripture from a new book.
"Then your light will break out like the dawn, and your recovery will speedily spring forth;
And your righteousness will go before you; the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard."
Isaiah 58:8
God loves you,

Something New
Hi Ladies,
I guess sort of a birthday present is new scriptures to memorize. Isaiah 58:6 says -
"Is this not the fast which I choose,
to loosen the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the bands of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free and
to break every yoke"
God bless you,
Ouida

August already!
Hi Ladies,
Here we are at the end of James!
"My brothers, if any among you strays from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his life from death and cover a multitude of sins."
James 5:19-20
Could James have been thinking of his own early rejection of Jesus as the Christ?
God bless you this delightfully warm month of the year.

Almost through wonderful James
Hi Ladies,
Toward the end of James is this amazing scripture:
"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours; yet he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months id did not rain on the land." James 5:17
Have a blessed end of July.

Yay July
Hi Ladies from cooler Colorado,
It may be warm here but the air is dryer so it is not noticed. We are happy to have a chance to visit Gerry's parents again,
I plan to work on James 5:15.
"The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will restore him to health; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Love,
Ouida

Oops - How the days fly by
Hi Ladies,
The days are flying by and so is James. In the fifth chapter there is much word on patience. There is also this word on meaning what you say:
Now above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. Your "yes" must be "yes," and your "no" must be "no," so that you won't fall under judgment. (James 5:12)
This is a pretty clear word. Have a good rest of June.
Love,
Ouida

Puzzling Word
James 5 starts with a puzzle to know how to apply.
"Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers who reaped your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts." James 5:4
God bless your thoughts on His word.

Even More James
Hi Ladies,
Today's verse is interesting:
"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.'" James 4: 13
Have a blessed memorization,

In Your Face James
Hi Ladies,
Sometimes it seems like James gets in your face. How about this attention getting getting scripture.
"Adultresses! Don't you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world's friend becomes God's enemy." James 4:4
God bless you,
Ouida

An Overlooked Message
Hi Ladies,
I'm thinking this message from James is an often overlooked truth from our good
Father. I am surely needing to memorize it.
Love,
Ouida
"You ask and don't receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires." James 4:3

James Teaches Us Wisdom
Hi Ladies,
It is so good to mediate on the characteristics of wisdom. James 3:17 does have a great list.
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy."
May we learn this by His grace,
Ouida

More James from the West Coast
Hi Ladies,
Even on theWest Coast I am finding it helpful to be working on James. It is so practical. The scripture I am currently learning is:
"So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites. and the tongue is a fire. " James 3:5-6a
God bless you,
Ouida

Whoa, It is the 19th
Hi Ladies,
Sorry I got distracted last week! This is such an exciting time with opportunities to help all around. That is why it is so good to keep your focus in the truth.
My word for this time is:
"So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, and he was called God's friend."
James 2:23

Spring Into The Word
Hurray Ladies,
New life and color is peeking out all around and we can use that enthusiasm to dig deeper into His Word!
The verse I am working on now is:
Indeed, if you keep the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, "Love you neighbor as yourself", you are doing well. But if you show favoritism, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
James 2: 8-9
Boy, you have to say that James does not mince words!
God bless you,
Ouida

January Update
Hi Ladies,
I did not think anyone was checking out this blog, but just in case I will start updating closer to the first and 15th. I can not tell you how excited I am about scripture memory right now! In our Ladies Bible Study here we were challenged to memorize James. Whether it all gets done or not, the journey so far has been wonderful. I have had The Word so much more on my mind because that sure helps with a challenge this huge. I will pray for you and please pray for me.
