My, how I have have needed that verse right in the middle of our reading today (John 7:10-31). Check it out - that pivotal verse 24.
But what got me thinking was the people's comment in verse 27. "But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from." How often does what we think we know get in the way of us receiving truth? Here they were seeing the rulers cower before Jesus as He speaks openly instead of seizing him to kill Him. They do begin to wonder if Jesus might actually be the Christ. But no. "We know ......"
