In the reading today
(Luke 1:29-51), Jesus is finding the men who will be His friends and key disciples in spreading the Good News. When he noticed the first two following Him, He asked them an crucial question. "What do you want?" Their answer was indicative of where their heart was. They did not ask to see some proof of who He was, or for help with some of their problems, they just asked,
"Rabbi" (which means "Teacher"), "where are you staying?" They just wanted to be with Him.
What a lesson we can learn from them. I often have so many questions and requests for help etc. etc. Can I just be content to be in His presence, to watch and to learn, to delight in His nearness (and hate any sin that separates us).
Thank you Ouida,
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine once told me to 'just be', don't think of being, don't be becoming, just be.
When I can still myself enough to just be, with Him, I find great peace and joy.
Just be.
Thank you Ouida for reminding me to just be.
